GCA Patriot Families,

We hope this message finds you safe after the impact of Hurricane Helene. We understand that many of our families are still facing challenges, such as power outages and property damage, and we want to offer our support during this difficult time. Fortunately, our building has sustained only minimal damage, and we currently have power.

As scheduled, students are set to return to school from fall break on Monday, October 7th, and we aim to stick with this plan. We believe that maintaining a sense of normalcy through school, friends, hot meals, and support from our staff can offer valuable comfort. However, we completely understand that some families may not yet be in a position to send their children to school. Rest assured, absences will not be penalized if your circumstances prevent attendance.

We are actively working to restore internet services but by Monday, we should have phone lines available to ensure you can reach the school if needed. Additionally, we understand that some students may not have access to clean uniforms—please feel free to send your child in any appropriate clothing for the week. Our staff will also be reaching out to families individually to assess how we can offer further assistance during this time.

Our priority is to reconnect with all of our families and provide support where needed. We look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday!

Warm regards,

Greenwood Charter Academy
